Labels
A label is designed for the shape it wraps. A round bottle shows only part of the label from the front, so the product name and the main claim have to sit in that visible window. A jar label may wrap almost all the way around; a can label is printed on the can or applied as a sleeve. We start from the container size and the printer's label template, then plan what shows from the front and what goes around the side.
Label materials matter too. Clear film, white film and paper each print differently, and a clear label on a dark liquid needs white ink under the art. We design for the stock you choose and note it in the file.
Pouches and bags
Stand-up pouches have a front, a back and a gusset at the bottom, and often a zipper, a tear notch and a hang hole. Those features take space and can cut through artwork. We design on the converter's template, keep text clear of the seals and zipper, and plan for the pouch bending once it's filled.
Required text
Food, supplements, cosmetics and household products all carry required information such as net contents, ingredients, directions, warnings and a barcode. You supply the content; we lay it out so it is legible at the sizes required and fits with the design. If a panel can't hold everything, we tell you early, before the design is final.
Questions
Can you design a whole range of flavors or scents?
Yes. We design one master label or pouch and a system for variations, usually a color and a name, so the range looks related on the shelf.
Do you need the physical container?
Exact dimensions and the printer's template are enough. A photo of the empty container helps us check how much of the label shows from the front.
